Gujarati Toor Dal (Pressure Cooker)

Ingredients

  • 100g Toor Dal
  • 250ml Water
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Jaggery
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
  • 6 Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp Oil

Cooking Steps

Wash dal and pressure cook with water and turmeric for 3 whistles.

Whisk the cooked dal until smooth.

Heat oil in a small pan, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, and asafoetida.

Pour the tempering into the dal, add jaggery and lemon juice, and simmer for 5 minutes.

Dry Aloo Bhindi Stir-fry

Ingredients

  • 150g Okra, sliced
  • 1 medium Potato, cubed small
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Steps

Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds.

Add potatoes and fry until slightly soft.

Add okra, spices, and salt.

Sauté on high heat for 7-8 minutes until crisp.
