Bengali Niramish Bandhakopi (Cabbage and Potato Stew)
Ingredients
- • 250g finely shredded cabbage
- • 1 medium potato, cubed
- • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- • 1 tsp ginger paste
- • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- • 1 bay leaf
- • 1 tbsp mustard oil
- • salt to taste
Cooking Steps

Heat mustard oil in the pressure cooker.

Add cumin seeds and bay leaf, then sauté the cubed potatoes for 2 minutes.

Add cabbage, turmeric, ginger paste, and salt. Stir well.

Close the cooker and cook for 1 whistle on low heat.

Release pressure, open, and stir-fry on high heat for 2 minutes to evaporate excess moisture.

- • 100g cooked black beans
- • 1/2 cup soya chunks, soaked
- • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- • 1/2 tsp garam masala
- • 1 tbsp oil
